Using the tax refund tracker, you can track the status of your refund within 24 hours after we’ve received your e-filed tax return, or
4 weeks after mailing your paper return.
When the IRS processes your tax return and approves your refund, you can see your actual personalized refund date. Even though the IRS issues most refunds in less than 21 days after we receive your tax return, it’s possible your tax return may require additional review and take longer.Internal Revenue Service
You will generally receive your state tax refund within:
7-10 days if you e-filed your return.
8-12 weeks from the date you mailed your return.
In most cases, we issue refunds within these timeframes. However, a very small percentage of tax returns require additional time to process for many reasons, including when a return has errors, is incomplete, or needs further review.California Franchise Tax Board
